OK...I made these images in Photoshop. I didn't realize that I couldn't change text placement from right to left...or "padding" right to left. (Or can I?) Anyway...I'm getting closer.
You'll see you can arrange the text exactly how you like, and the coding that's needed. You'll also need to use a certain amount of html in your text in the journal itself as you go (you may have already sussed that though).
If you use one by ˘mynti you'll find she actually gives you a breakdown of which part of the CSS refers to which part of the journal, which I found really invaluable. Look on her journal page and you'll find links to all the templates she has done for us to use without obligation.
Other links to look at are..
Journal CSS - Part 1 (there are links there to parts 2 and 3, and also other useful links)
I also have a print out of an Introduction to CSS - Crash Course, but unfortunately I don't have the name of the person who did it, nor the link, but if I find it I'll give it to you (it tells you what dA's software will do to your CSS!)
Anyway, if you put in a search on dA for CSS tutorials under non-art, you should find plenty to keep you going.
You'll also find there are more than one way of writing out the CSS, so try not to get confused, but decide on which way you'll do yours and stick to it to save future problems when you want to remember something! lol!
WOw...Thanks for all this inforamtion. I will definatly take you up on the offer to use one of your again. I've taken all of your links and saved 'em so I can go back through them over the week.
I had jury Duty today, and came home to a sick 3 year old. Not fun, at all!
Again, thanks so much for helping me with this stuff. I'm trying to wrap my brain around this stuff.
Oooh I've never had to do Jury duty - thank goodness!! (Although I'm sure sometimes it can be very interesting, but it's not something I've ever wanted to do, and now I'm disabled, I couldn't in any case!) Sorry your 3 year old is sick after all that! Awww..
I have just looked at =Illusio-5's journal page, which I see they've offered to let you have the stuff for, and I think that's an excellent one to go on with! Go for it!
Yep, that's one I often send people when they are stuck. Anyway, can you not me your e-mail. I am also including a link to someone who writes really good CSS for journals. [link]
May I recommend one made by either ˘mynti or myself (This one or This one).
